Project Description:

Community and Voluntary service (CVS-Najitolea) is one of the UVIKIUTA’s program dedicated to engage youth and volunteers from various backgrounds aiming to share life together while providing service to the community. The program connects people from around the world with local projects and communities in Tanzania. It offers a powerful vision built on our belief that volunteers have a vital role to play in development and in building a more just and sustainable world society. We are looking for a Voluntary service management assistant to support the program in recruitment, placements and management of voluntary service.

Work Description:

Assist and working together with CVS-Najitolea team to:-

o   Prepare accurate project descriptions and Information sheet

o   Prepare volunteers’ training,  orientation, midterm and final evaluations

o   Prepare Project leaders’  training

o   Conduct regular Volunteer Information sessions

o   To recruit local  and international volunteers needed

o   Searching for new local, regional and International partners in community projects, Volunteer exchange and fundraising.

o   Generate regular updates (at least weekly) for UVIKIUTA social media team, including short stories and accompanying photographs

o    Participating in International work camps as co-leader.

o   Support networking activities of Eastern African voluntary service (EAVS-Network) in communication, meetings and other networking activities.

Requirements:

o   Passion for  International voluntary service development

o   Strong written and verbal communication skills

o    Organizational skills and attention to detail.

o   Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Accommodation and Food:

Accommodation will be at the host families in the eco-village. Basic accommodation facilities like water, electricity and toilets will be available. Expect to share room with other volunteer or family member of the same gender. Food will be provided with the host family. Volunteers with special dietary requirements are encouraged to inform us in advance. Volunteers are expected not to be guest but part of the family, engaging and participate in house chaos and other social activities happening in the family.

Visa Info:

o   Once a volunteer is accepted an official invitation letter from us will be issued. Take enough time to apply the since visa or work permit/resident permits application process can take long.

o   Visas, Work/resident permits are applied and issued online. Applicants are advised to make their applications through the official Tanzania Immigration website www.immigration.go.tz  ONLY or directly through the link:  visa.immigration.go.tz   and Not through any other links.

o   Resident and work permits are mandatory for project lasting from 91 days.

o   Our staff will be available through out to provide support in the process of visa or work/resident permits application.

Insurance:

UVIKIUTA and the host projects in the ground will provide no insurances. Individual volunteers or sponsoring/sending organization need to have their own insurances for health, travel etc. 

Fees:

Extra fee is a non-refundable contribution by each individual volunteer to support the operations of the program. Extra fee scheduled for 2024 is €100. (Euro) per month.  

Fees Used for:

Extra fee does not cover the cost of medical/health services, all types of insurances, visas or any other Government charges if any, pocket money, transport cost from orientation center to the project, Transport to the airport on departure, free/leisure activities and other personal expenses. However; extra fee does cover the cost of airport pickup on arrival to the orientation center, food and accommodation during the project and on project area only, transport for project related activities and general running/administration cost of the program.

 

Application Info:

Applications will be received only through sponsoring organization/sending organization (s) in the country of volunteers’ residency or citizenship at least three months minimum before the project start. Confirmation will base on the availability of the placement and fulfilled of requested conditions.
