Volunteers get involved in teaching baby classes, precare, pre-unit and class one (1) to class eight (8) for pre & primary school. Secondary schools; Teach secondary school subjects ie Maths, English, biology, chemistry, languages ie French, Japanese. The volunteers will get involved in lesson planning and timetable structuring, testing and examining. Organizing and participating in co-curricular activities eg sports, physical exercises, dance, songs and composition, creative activities eg moulding and clay works, painting and artistic works, drawing and general recreational activities. They will also held in feeding program at the school, helping offering meals to children during break time and lunch time at the school. The opportunities are available at Kipepeo Community Education Centre, a community school established by KCEP to offer education to children from needy and resource poor families in our communities of Luanda, public primary schools and secondary school/ High schools in Kenya.

No special qualifications unless the specific project states so are necessary except that you should have high motivation and lots of initiation to implement the objectives of the project. You may need communication skills beyond language, so be creative. Volunteers should be motivated and ready for any activity in their area of choice.
This part is intended to give you some idea about what it will be like to be attached at a project as a KCEP volunteer. We currently have one option for volunteers, staying at Kipepeo Community Resource Centre which has rooms for accommodating volunteers, the centre has a care taker who supports volunteers during their stay. The centre is a host to Kipepeo office and permaculture farm, so volunteers will be closer to Kipepeo team for any support necessary during their volunteering period. Volunteers participate in cooking and keeping their rooms clean during their stay. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be provided and served here during your project period
Pocket money varies based on ones needs and interest to spin ton either souvenir or safari among others, a modest of Ksh. 7000 will work for you for a month.

Pay Using visa card, MasterCard and other debit cards.
Await approval via email, then download and print the eVisa from your
eCitizen account.
Present your printed eVisa to the immigration officer at the port of entry
Please apply for a tourist visa, as no such thing as a volunteer visa exists. For filling out the visa application form, you can use the KCEP address as your address in Kenya. The tourist visa for Kenya is valid for three months.
You can extend your visa for another 3 months at the Immigration Offices in Nairobi, Mombasa or Kisumu.
Please note that after a stay of 6 months you are required to leave the country.
In case you are planning to volunteer longer than 6 months with KCEP, you can receive a new visa by traveling to any country outside the East African
region of Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya.

250 Euros per Volunteer
The volunteer pays a monthly contribution of 250 Euros per month for the upkeep of the organization and themselves at the project. The fee will carter for food, accommodation, administration, orientation, project preparation, certification and project support. The volunteers will have to pay an extra onetime payment for airport pickup and transportation to the project location, 35 Euros for those arriving at
Kisumu International Airport and for those arriving at
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (Nairobi) are required to make payments themselves to the taxi and to the bus upto project location (We provide close support to our volunteers who choose this option and we pick them up at the bus station)
Below is the detailed breakdown information on the volunteer’s
contribution.
a)Food and Accommodation – 100 Euros
b) Office Administration ( Electricity, Stationeries, Facilitation Charts, Felt Pens, Internet Services, Repair and maintenance of machines, staff motivation (10% to go to Kipepeo Go fund Me fundraising Activity- 100 EurosKipepeo Go fund Me fundraising Activity is KCEP’s initiative of fundraising to
enable the organization to finish the construction of a community resource centre that is already underway. c) Project preparation, Orientation and Facilitation -50 euros
Total 250 Euros per month per volunteer (Plus one-time fee for airport pickup for Kisumu airport as indicated above)
Kenyan School Calendar run from January to mid April, May to mid August and September to October.
November and December are long Holidays
