In Tanzania, Child-care Centers are social facilities that care for children in groups and they have different sponsors, including schools, churches, social service agencies or independent owners. Many parents choose center-based care because they believe the presence of multiple caregivers, larger groups of children, and state inspections make them both safer and more dependable. Some parents also consider these types of centers to be a better learning environment for their children. Rehoboth Childcare center in an establishment aiming ensure that children in the community receives a good quality childhood care, education and gains the skills and knowledge they need to thrive achieve promising future. The center is focusing on Children from diverse social and economic backgrounds from the age of 2-6 years old. About 40-70 children are attended daily with a team of 4 as well volunteers.
Basic Childcare: Basic childcare is a primary function of at Rehoboth Child-care center. Much of a volunteer's time is spent monitoring children to ensure they remain safe as they go about their activities.
Play time: Play helps children share with others and copes with their feelings while developing verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Play also helps develop children's fine motor development and helps them develop confidence. Volunteers usually assist with age-appropriate activities such as helping toddlers and pre-schoolers with arts and crafts, reading, writing, dancing, singing and playing games.
Clean-up and maintenance: to maintain focus on children at all times and to help maintain a safe, friendly, supportive environment. Volunteers must be vigilant to ensure all toys and equipment’s are safe, clean and in good working order, and to report problems to supervisors or head of the Centre. Volunteers usually stock supplies and help with clean-ups of kids rooms or play areas.
Capacity development: Support local staff through knowledge and experience sharing on various teaching/Kids caring methodologies, Teaching English language etc.
o Have a skills and knowledge on Youth development issues
o Have English language skills and an interest to learn the local Language (Kiswahili). Optional language classes will be provided.
o Skills and Interest to teach foreign languages (English, French, German etc.)
o Interest to work with teenagers and Youth; provide support on homework’s and after school activities.
o Open minded and ready to be challenged
o Interested in other cultures and local realities
o Patient and committed, creative and easy to adopt to the situations
o Able to work under less supervision and minimum resources
o Work under Tanzanian Laws, culture, tradition and customs as regard to teens and Youth care.
o Certificate of good conduct
Accommodation will be at the host families in the eco-village. Basic accommodation facilities like water, electricity and toilets will be available. Expect to share room with other volunteer or family member of the same gender. Food will be provided with the host family. Volunteers with special dietary requirements are encouraged to inform us in advance. Volunteers are expected not to be guest but part of the family, engaging and participate in house chaos and other social activities happening in the family.
No pocket money provide.
o Once a volunteer is accepted an official invitation letter from us will be issued. Take enough time to apply the since visa or work permit/resident permits application process can take long.

o Resident and work permits are mandatory for project lasting from 91 days.
o Our staff will be available through out to provide support in the process of visa or work/resident permits application.
UVIKIUTA and the host projects in the ground will provide no insurances. Individual volunteers or sponsoring/sending organization need to have their own insurances for health, travel etc.
300 euro per month.
Extra fee does not cover the cost of medical/health services, all types of insurances, visas or any other Government charges if any, pocket money, transport cost from orientation center to the project, Transport to the airport on departure, free/leisure activities and other personal expenses. However; extra fee does cover the cost of airport pickup on arrival to the orientation center, food and accommodation during the project and on project area only, transport for project related activities and general running/administration cost of the program.
Applications will be received only through sponsoring organization/sending organization (s) in the country of volunteers’ residency or citizenship at least three months minimum before the project start. Confirmation will base on the availability of the placement and fulfilled of requested conditions.
